FOXTON RACING CLUB.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR ANNUAL MEETING. This season the Foxton Racing Club will hold its annual meeting on January 16tli and 17th. Hitherto the fixture has been held on the Anniversary Day dates, 'and in consequence has clashed with the Wellington summer meeting. The Foxton committee feels that the change will be beneficial, and is looking forward to a successful gathering. The Foxton tracks are at present in splendid order, and the local trainers are all highly satisfied. At present about twenty horses are in 'regular work. To meet the convenience of Taranaki owned horses that may come to the meeting, the committee has arranged with the Railway Department for a special train to leave Palmerston on Monday, January 14. This train will connect with the ordinary train arriving from New Plymouth in the evening. During the past year or two, the about the delay in getting to the meeting. The introduction of this special train service should help the position. Ample stable accommodation is available for all visiting horses. Owing to the holidays it is necessary to have an early date for the closing of nominations, and the attention of

owners and trainers is drawn to the fact that the closing day is Wednesday, December 19th, at 8 p.m.
