APPEAL AGAINST CONVICTION PAILS. SYDNEY. Dee. 5. Silas Maling suffered a doublo blow to-day when lie was divorced and his appeal at the quarter sessions against, his conviction of bribery arising out fc ot ! ' ■ the Babcoek-Wilcox-Oouncil con tract was dismissed, > Maling’s counsel ashed Judge Curlewis to bind Mating over instead of sending him to prison for six months as required by the Magistrate} iri the Lower Court. Judge it was a case more for increase because of the depths of corruption shown in this case. The Judge ordered the sen-' fence to stand. -* ■ . Maling has been removed ,to Long Bay Prison.
