On Wednesday afternoon teams from Otaki, Levin, and Shannon met at Foxton where the first round of the triangular shield competition was played. Play resulted as follows: — Fox ton: J. Newth, E. Parkin, Jno. Ross, Christie (s) 22 v. Shannon: Wil kinson, Mason, Clayton, Knowles (s) 15.
Foxton: Scadden, Stevenson, Walton, Heves (s) 12 v. Levin: Rout-lev, Challies, Hawke, Bull (s) 24. Fox torn: F. Robinson, M. Newth, M. Walker, F. Woods (s) 17 v. Otaki: Arnyes, Palmer, Smith, Satherlev (s) 21. Foxton’s average was 17.
