POLING DAY.
To-morrow will be polling' day for th-j general election throughout trfe Dominion.. The polling booth in Shannon will be at the local school, where there will be three booths, which will open at 9 a.m. and close at'7 p.m.
Arrangements have been made by .the Shannon News in conjunction with the management of the Maoriland Thea.tre to screen the returns at the Theatre. It is expected to have the results of ,the Manawatu electorate shortly before 8 p.m., this will be followed by progress reports from other electorates. The jposition of the parties will also b-3 shown from time to time. Arrangements have been made for the same service of messages as that of the cities a special wire being reserved for the purpose. Results will be screened up to 2 a.m., this being the hour that the telegraph office will close down. In addition the usual picture programme .will be screened, which will be supplemented by musical items. No extra .charge will be made for admittance. During the evening the lour candidates will soeak at the theatre.
