At "the election of seven trustees to represent the Makerua drainage dirtiiet held yesterday, nine names were, submitted, and the poll resulted in the return of Messrs J. 11. P. Liggins (91 votes), Hugh Akers (90), Harold Barber (88), 11. J. T. Hume (79), T. D. Lynch (73), H. Greig (6(3)' and J. F. Carter (61). - . The other candidates 'were Messrs- R. Southie and C. H. Spiers. The new.members are Messrs Barber, Carter, Grey and Lynch.
