THOUGHT-READING.

SCENE AT ALHAMBRA. (Sun Special.) LONDON, October 4. A scene was created at the Alhambra Theatre during a thought-reading performance, of a French ex-tsoldjier;, Gaston, when a member of the committee from the audience demanded to be allowed to blindfold Gaston,, in his own, instead of Gaston's, way. Gaston declined, and the committee man protested to the audience against foreign performers crowding out Britons from engagements. Some shouted, "Give him a chance," but he was hustled off the stage. It. was subsequently discovered that he was William Tree, an Australian thought-reader, who, early in 1925, gave a Royal performance before the King. Tree claims that he performed Gaston's feats nine years ago. He toured Africa, Australia and the Far .East with his wife. He says that a London engagement is hopeless unless one possesses a foreign name.
