ELECTRIC REFRIGERATORS.
SCALE OF CHARGES FIXED. Aplications having been reeojved' for power for refrigerators, the Engineer (Mr J. A. Smith) recommended to'the Horowhenua Power Board on Tuesday that the following rates be charged:— (1) Refrigerators,- motor driven: Same rate as domestic pumping motors —1 h.p., $3, 10s per annum, '\ h.p. £4 10s per annum. (2) Refrigerators, thermal operated: Same charge as for waterjieaters—at rate equal-Jo £l2 per annum per kilowatt. ":. v. The Engineer stated that small do•meEtie -refrigerators were now on the market; some had been installed m the district, and there had never been a*proper rate for them. ■ •.' ! In answer" to a question by Cr. Barber as to whether a charge would b 9 made in the winter, the Engineer stateded that, by paying a small fee for cut-ting-off and switching-on, tie users could have the refrigerators disconnected for.three or six months in the year. This principle applied to all classes of current coming under the flat "rate provisions. ,
