WEDDING.

STEVENSON—GOODWIN. On Wednesday, October 10, Esther Ellon Goodwin,- daughter of Mr I. P, Goodwin, “Ardlin” Woodville, was married'at Shannon to Charles Leonard Stevenson, of the Shannon Public Works, son of the late Mr aiid Mrs C. Stevenson, Port Chalmers. The ceremony took place at “Nga Tawa, ” the residence of the bride’s brother, and. was performed by the Rev. Mr Gardner, of • Woodvillo. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty frock of pale pink crepe de chine and radium lace, with a pink crinoline picture hat. Her bouquet was composed of pink African daisies, tulips, Iceland poppies and asparagus fern. . The•-bridesmaid,'-Miss Jessie Goodwin, a .sister of the bride, was prettily attired in a frock of pale green crepe de chiiu' with which she wore a small beige lmt. She carried pink African daisies, freesias, maiden-hair 'fern. l * Mr Kenneth Henry of the Public Works, Shannon, was best man. * ' . : Among those present .were Misses Violet and Gwendoline Goodwin, sisters of the bride, the former wearing a pretty blue crepe.de chine frock and black hat, and the latter cream georgette over crepe de chine, with a crinoline hat. Miss Isobel Stevenson, of Palmerston North, and Miss Nonie Stevenson, of Dunedin,' sisters of the bridegroom, wore respectively smart tailored costumes with hat to match, and a frock of biscuit coloured crepe; de cliiue with, a hat in a toning shade. Miss Dorothy Gunning, of Shannon, was in floral georgette'with a pink hat and Mrs Rewi Moynihan wore'a navy hat with her smart navy blue costume The wedding breakfast was held at “Nga Tawa, ’’ where the usual, toasts were honoured. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a handsome gold Wristlet watch-.■ The bride chose for her going away toilette a smart blue rep coat frock, a small , blue toque, grey coat, and -grey shoes and stockings. Mr and Mrs Stevenson left by car en route' for Wellington. They will make their future home in Shannon. •.
