OBITUARY.
It is with ragrec we announce tin death of three well-known residentor former residents in Shannon, which took, place at. the Palmerston Nortn Hospital on Friday. , Mr William Barker, one of these, nad been in the town for 25 years, havnu been employed up to a few month a o'o at the Miranui mill. He commenc ed work there when the mill was nrs opened. Prior to coming to Shannon In was employed in the Marlborough dm trier for many years. Deceased hat . n joyed good health up to a few week. rro But a little over a week ago 1 was found necessary to remove him to the hospital where he passed away, lie loaves a widow, two daughters Misses M and P. Barker, and one son, Mr William Barker, of the State Fire office, Wellington. Another resident, Mr S. C. CoUiuge, a member of the electrical staff of the Power House at Manga ore, also passed awav the same, morning after a sud den illness. The late Mr Oolliuge who was 28 years of age and married, was the second son of Mr and Mrs J. Coll in ge, of Hastings., To Ins widow will be extended the deepest sympathy of a large circle of friends. ' The third person was Mr James Ivel lv, of Palmerston North, who although not living here, was well known in the glistrict- will ore lie worked . for some lime, having been engaged in the flax industry, but of late was pig buyer for one of tlie bacon companies. He was 48 years of age and leaves a widow to mourn his loss.
