RAILWAY TRAFFIC.
TRANSACTIONS AT DISTRICT ' STATIONS. The annual statement of the Rail*way Department, which .has been presented to Parliament, contains the customary table showing the traffic and revenue for each station for the year ended March 31st. In this district Levin heads the list both for passenger revenue and outward freight. The figures relating to the value of passenger and season tickets (inclusive) are: — i Levin £8412, Otaki £4900, Shannon €4269, Foxton £1368. The total value | of freight forwarded in each case was: I Levin £16,552, Otaki £15,825, Shannon £14,592, Foxton 5 £9106. In respect of inward freight Shannon- headed the list in" sheep and.pigs, with 23,535 head, and Levin was next with 19,637. Of genral goods inwards Foxton had the great- | est quantity} with 18,211 tons, and I Shannon was next with 11,604 tons. Details are as under:— i LEVIN—OUTWARD.
