EVENING SCARVES

NEW NOEIQNS.

The triangular Hoekftivhief. is far from banished. It appears as a smart scarf-element in sports clothes, with a largo, openwork monogram placed in the corner, which is usually set over the right shoulder. A new use of this triangular scarf has been devised. It is used in the evening ensemble and made of the fabric of ■the frock, su<*h as taffeta, satin, or crepe dc-chin<s. Again, a long, narrow chiffon scarf t.o match the evening frock, which ,is draped low round the -shoulders, ties Hghtly at the front. The kid ensemble, consisting of hat, bagj and shoes to match, is one of the most recent innovations. One partic* ularly smart set seen was of black kid and grey snakoskin. The hat is of the small brimless type, with a soft, crushed croAvn, flattering to.almost any tyse of face, because the soft kid drapes in folds like a piece of lustrous silk. A single band of anakeskin encircles it, and a similar piece straps the bag, which is of a flat, envelope pattern. But the shoes are the really distinctive item of this ensemble—black snakeskin shoes with low heels and straps.
