LIP-STICK DOOMED

NEW PARISIAN CREAM.

SHADES OF BLONDE

Parisiennes have given up entirely the use of the lipstick. A newer Avay has been found to tint the lips, and the overworked lipstick is to be allowed to rest.

Every smart woman now carries in her handbag a tiny box studded with diamonds, containing lip cream, and a njueh bettter make-up. is thus obtained.

Eesta'urant and hotel managers have assisted in the downfall of the lipstick. For some time past they have been complaining that the lipstick used by thoir women patrons comes off on to the table lineu, and is most difficult to remove.

Also they said the, half-circle of :red left against the rim of the teacup; annoyed the non-lipstick-usors. The new lip cream is absolutely indelible, and cannot be removed from the lips except by soap and water. The box in which it is contained is about the size of the first joint of the little finger, and the glass fitted in the lid is so small that it reflcets the lips only. Only the blonde shades are used m the manufacture of lip eream, and peach, apricot, and the pale clear red of a ripe strawberry are the fashionable colours. Crimsoned mouths are quite out of fashion, and only the faintest touch of cream is applied. Women are finding the now fashion a more economical one than the lipstick, for the blonde colours last much longer. ___,
