It is declared to be the most gripping ehapterplay ever filmed. It contains pretentious production value and its many weird touches in lighting and characterization, bizarre and impressive, prove Hill to be one of the screen's outstanding directors.. "Blake of Scotland Yard" consists of twelve episodes of two reels each, every one of them containing the thrills that would ordinarily be contained in a full length melodrama. Hayden Stevenson of "Leather Pushers" and '' The Collegians'' fame is starred, while the supporting cast includes Gloria Grey in the feminine lead, Herbert Prior, Monte Wilbur Mack, Albert Hart and Grace Cuuard.
On the same bill is "Smile, Brother, Smile," Men-folk who see-Jack Mulhall as a cosmetic saleman in this First National comedy-drama will be glad he isn't a house-to-house salesman in real life! Not. that he's a sheik, but who could resist his salesmanship as demonstrated in the picture! Dorothy Mackaill is co-featured with him.
