RUGBY THIRD GRADE REPS.

HOROWHENUA DEFEAT' BUSH BY 18 POINTS TO 14.

Favoured with fine weajther, the Horowhenua Rugby third grade representatives had an excellent afternoon’s outing yesterday, when they travelled to Pahi'atua by motor bus and played the Bush third reps. The game was a fast and exciting one, and it, ended in a win for the visiting lads by 18 points to 14. When the teams were 'lined out, Horowhenua showed a slight advantage in the matter of weight, and in the early part of the game they seemed to be the superior team, but as play progressed it became evident that the sides were pretty closely matched. The visitors’ score consisted of six tries, while Bush were responsible for four tries,, one of which was converted. Ten minutes before the conclusion, Bush were leading by 14 points to 12 and their forwards were playing with clever tactics of a type characteristic of their district, packing well, following up, and coming through their opponents ranks three or four at a time. Thou the incidence of piny changed somewhat*. The Horowiienua backs livened up, and two tides were registered, the last being scored just on the call of time.
