A Win for Roscrea.

Roiscre'a], Jjimeriek’s WalfMbroth >r, who created a good early impression last Saturday when he won the Throe-year-old Handicap of seven furlongs at Rosehill (N.S.W.) in convincing style, had two starts before leaving the Dominion, his effort on Saturday being his first across the Tasman. The son of Rossendale won at his first essay, the Novice Plate at the winter meeting f'ot the Ashburfon Racing Glub. when his nearest attendant was Lighthearted, also doing well at present ii: N.S.W. Roscrea's next, and only other, effort in the Dominion was made at Trentham last month, in the Trial Plate, in which he went under to the Greenmeadowsdrained Toxeuma, who was meeting him at level weights. Toxeuma won by a length, with a bit of reserve, taking 1.18 to traverse the threequarters of a mile—-not a bad performance for a two-vear-old on a holding course to register that time with nine stone up, The win of Roscrea makes Toxeuma out a good one, as theye is no doubt that when Roscrea was beaten by him at Trentham no fault could be found with the condition of the relative of Ballymena and Limerick. Roscrea's next outing will probably be in the Hobartville Stakes which will come up for decision at Warwick Farm (Sydney) on the 29th.
