LONDON, June 28
A girl who repented at the alta; and refused to say “I will," caused a sensation at Ellesmere Port, near Liv erpool. She was Miss Mary Paxon, aged 21 The minister, the Rev.-Ifor Jones had extracted the “1 will" from tlu bridegroom, but lie received no answei when he asked the girl if she would have "this man to be her lawful wed ded husband!" Mr Jones waited a brief interval, and the groom told her to respond. ■ "I shan’t," Miss Paxon replied. The minister asked her if she ed to marry, and she replied, "No." lie then took her into, the vestry, where she - said she knew she would not be happy. The bridegroom’s father, for whom Miss Paxon had acted as housekeeper, was to have given her away. Her mothl-r was sent {for and took her home.
