MAORILAND PICTURES.

"TWO OIRLS WANTED." Doris Lloyd has deserted matronly roles temporarily to play the part of a maiden lady of uncertain years, and a stenographer in the bargain,, in “Two Girls Ranted,” Fox Films, coming to the Maoriland Theatre. This is the first time since her entrance into pictures that Miss Lloyd has been called upon to play such a role. “Two Girls Wanted” is based on the play by Gladys Ufigar, which scored so highly on Broadway last season. It was purchased by Fox Films at Director Alfred E. Green’s request as a starring vehicle for Janet Gaynor. The. story itself deals with the adventures of two sisters in their hectic fight for existence, coupled with a plot in high finance between two New York business men. Miss Gaynor is supported in this by an excellent cast.

“THAT’S MY DADDY.” In “That’s My Daddy/’ which will be screened on Friday, is offered the Ultimate triumph of wholesome screen comedy. The story was written by Reginald Denny who stars in this-Uni-versal farce. “That’s My Daddy” is an unusual picture, being in many, ways a departure from the l'arcial subjects in whieh Denny has made his name and fortune. For screaming situations the films is unsurpassed, there are spots where the comicalities become convulsive. But added to all this is a touch of child pathos injected by the remarkable acting of Jane La Verne, a baby prodigy recently discovered by Reginald Denny himself. The east of this picture is exceptional with ' Barbara Kent, playing the feminine lead and Lillian Rich, well known leading woman, playing the second lead. The story concerns the little girl befriended by Denny and is featured, by a-gorgeous wedding on board a palatial private vacht.
