A TWO-HEADED BIRD.

WHAT SAILORS SAW.

Members of the crew of the Dutch steamer Blitar, which reached Sydney from Rotterdam recently, 1 tell how they saw a huge freak albatross two days before reaching Adelaide.

The bird is described as having two heads —one black and one white! Officers of the steamer swear to the story, and the. chief officer (Mr Rommel) said that after circling the steamer several times the bird flew away in a westerly direction. = The chief officer is also a collector of goldfish. Months ago he acquired a number from Java, but during the hot months they have started to change from gold to black and grow two tails. The fish are a source of wonder to the Chinese firemen, who spend hours studying them. The Blitar, in charge of Captain Euernes, is on her first voyage to Sydney. She has Chinese firemen, Javanese stewards, and Dutch seamen.
