GOLF NOTES.
The- inter-club malch, Shannon ver-. sua Manawatu, was held on the local course on Saturday. The day was an Ideal one and the links in good order. The star attraction was, of course, the meeting between Blyth and L. Seifert, junr. Blyth was a good favourite locally, but was well beanten. Seifert did well in adapting himself to the local.conditions, and ran out in 3 over bogey, which may be termed a capital round. Mr Spencer in returning thanks for the hospitality received, said one and all had enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon, and hoped that the return match at Palmerston North would be held under similiar conditions. He also thank- - ed the ladies for the very enjoyable afternoon tea provided. Mr Jones suitably replied for Shannon. •,■'"'■ ' Result of . games.—Manawatu 8, Shannon 4.
