DAYLIGHT SAVING
ACTION BT FARMERS. The New Zealand Farmers’ Union intends to present a petition to Parliament this year protesting against daylight saving, and urging the repeal of the present Act. Speaking at the meeting of the Dominion executive on-Thursday, the secretary (Mr. J. Pow) said that about two months ago he had approached the various branches in, order ' to secure signatures to a petition which would be presented to Parliament against the retention of daylight saving. He had received a number of replies from North Taranaki, the Women’s Division, North Otago, North Canterbury, Hawke’s Bay, Waimate, Wellington, and Wairarapa. It would be his duty to draw up a petition, and he hoped that branches would forward to him a statement of their objections to the Act. ' ,
