DO NOT WASTE PETROL.

Owners of old cars are well advised always to turn off the petrol when the car is put away for the night, for the chances are that the needle valve of the carburettor does not seat perfectly, owing to wear, and a slow leak of petrol takes place during the night, or in fact, at all times when the car is standing. Frequently, such a leak can be stopped by exerting pressure on the needle valve with the fingers' and turning it round in its seating several tidies; It is not generally wise, however, to use any abrasive on the seating, as is so frequently advised.
