SCHOOL COMMITTEES ELECTION
SHANNON NOMINATES REQUIRED NUMBER. Nominations for membership -Qf school committees closed last evening. Nine were received for the local committee, which included only two members of the old committee —viz.. Messrs A. Coates and G. Booker —the remainder of the committee declining re-elec-tion. As the number nominated is a full committee, no election will be necessary at the householders’ meeting to be held on Monday evening, April 23rd. It. will be noticed that the chairman (Mr R. L. Tippler) has 'decided not, to offer himself again. This is to be regretted as, during the five years he has been on the committee, four of' which ho has been chairman, he has rendered invaluable service, devoting considerable time and work to the welfare of the school. The following is the new committee for the ensuing year: Messrs G. Booker, A. Coates, W. H. Christian, F. Goldsmith, C. Hansmann, A. E. Hyde, A. 11. Hill, T. A. Ingley and A. Richards.
