UNUSUAL ACCIDENT.
FARMER PINNED UNDER COW. A serious accident happened yesterday morning to Mr John Selbie, of Lindsay Roarl, necessitating his removal to the Palmerston North hospital. It appears that Mr Selbie had a cow in the bail when the animal suddenly fell without, any apparent reason,- pinning him underneath. The weight of the beast was considerable and it was found necessary to summon Dr. Hunter from Levin to attend to Mr Selbie. As a result of the doctor’s investigations, the injured man was dispatched to the Palmerston hospital to be put under the X-rays. Mr Selbie had only been in possession of his farm a few months, having previously been employed at the Boys’ Training Farm. In response to an inquiry made by telephone to-day it was learned from the hospital that Mr Selbie’s condition had remained about the same since his admittance, and that he was to be Xrayed this afternoon.
