ST. PATRICK’S BALL

AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION

The annual St. Patrick’s ball was held in the Druids’ Hall on Friday evening, and, as in the past, the function Was most successful botli socially and financially. There was a large attendance, many journeying from Levin, while the neighbouring district was well represented. The hall and supper rooms were decorated with coloured streamers, giving a pleasing effect. The floor was in good order and, with the excellent music rendered by “The Alhambrian” orchestra from Levin, added much to the pleasure oi the dancers. Mr. J. T. Bovis efficiently carried out the duties of M.C. The supper arrangements were in the charge of a committee of ladies, and, as usual, nothing was wanting in this respect. . The ball committee had given attention to every detail to assure patrons spending a pleasant evening, and the result must have been very gratifying to them. During the evening extras were played by Mrs Butler, Miss M. Butler and Mr. B. Spencer. Dancing was kept up until the early hours of the morning. Among those present were: —Mrs Jas.
