FIRE AT BUCKLEY.
FARMHOUSE DESTROYED. A six-roomed farmhouse on the Levin Road, Buckley, owned and occupied by Mr W. H. McKenzie, was totally destroyed by fire early this morning. Mr McKenzie, whose wife and family were ' away, was occupying a front room, and was awakened by the noise of the fire at 2.30 a.m. The outbreak, which had evidently commenced in the \ rear portion of the building, had- a strong hold, and the occupant only had time to gather up some clothes and make his escape. Nothing else was saved, the building being burned to the ground, with its contents. The structure w-as jftrtly old and partly new, having been added to a few years ago. There was an insurance of £BO.O on the house and outbuildings and a cover of £2OO on the furniture.
