WANDERERS CLUB
The annual meeting of the Wanderers Football Club was held in Mr Wilkinson's rooms on Tuesday evening, there being an attendance of 35, Mr li. J.'Jones presiding. An apology forabsence was received from Mr K. Adams. 1 ANNUAL REPORT. AND BALANCE SHEET. The secretary (Air J. Casey) presented the following report:— , “The 1927 season must be classed as a successful one from a playing and a social point of View. Your committee met regularly, and all members attended well. “Teams. —Two teams were entered in the 11.R.D.C. competitions—a senior and a third class. It was found impossible to enter a, junior team. The senior team did well, both in the championship and in the Nash Cup competition. They were ably coached by Air Jacob, who deserves great praise for the results obtained by the team. In the third grade a light team, under the tuition of Air Watts, won the Northern Division competition and were just beaten in the play-off with the winners of the Southern Division —Paraparaumu. - “A 1 embership.—lt is satisfactory to record that there was an increase in membership last season. Mr J. W. Ilimmer donated badges to the club fui presentation to each member. This ao; of Mr Rimmer was highly appreciated. “Thanks. —The club conveys its thanks to Air Wilkinson for the use oi liis rooms for all meetings; to-support-ers; to the. Press of the district for reports, and to Airs L. Ingrain for indefatigable attention to jerseys of senior team.”
The balance sheet showed that the year commenced with a credit balance of £l4 2s Id and. finished with a credit of £1 19s (id. The receipts amounted to £3O 4s, made up of donations £l9 18s, subscriptions £8 ss, and refunds £2 Is. The expenditure totalled £42 Os 7d, the principal items being affiliation to Council £7 10s, donation to secretary £5, and jerseys and stockings £ls 4ff The report and balance sheet were adopted. Hobson. , ■ SECRETARY’S SERVICES. - In moving that the usual honorarium be voted-to the secretary, Air Rimmer said that Wanderers were very happy in having the services of Air Casev, who had worked loyally both for the club- and the Union. The vote was passed with acclamation. SHOP DAY. It was announced that a shop day would be held on Saturday week. An appeal was made by the treasurer, to the members to rally, round and make the occasion a success. Arrangements for organising the function wore left in the hands of Ales dan) os Lin. AlcDoii aid and M. Ryder, who will be asked to select other ladies to assist them. Donations of £2 2s from Mr W. MeLennon, and £2 2s and a football from Air J. W. Rimmer were promised, ami thanks were accorded the donors.
