TRIANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST. On Wednesday next, at Shannon, the final- round of ' the Triangular Shield contest will be played, when rinks from Foxton and Levin will compete with four representing Shannon Club. The aggregate points at the conclusion of the second round were as follows: —Levin (6 games), 160; Shannon (4 games), 81; Foxton (6 games), 91. The average points are: —Levin 26 2-3 per game, Shannon 201, Foxton 15 1-6. It. will thus be seen that Levin has a great chance of winning the Shield again this season. SHANNON THE CHAMPIONS. . The Shannon and Foxton rinks met at Levin on Saturday to play the final game in connection with.the selecting of a rink to represent the Horowlienua section in the champion of champions tourney being held by the Manawatu (selitre* at Palmerston North on Saturday, March 24th. The game was full of' interest and keenly fought out. Foxton drew first blood, lying 2 up and by the end of the' eleventh head, they had a lead of eleven, the score being Foxton 16, Shannon 5, the latter having scored on three heads only. Ross, who was playing third for Foxton being largely responsible for Shannon’s small score. The 12th head went to Shannon with four up and the next was theirs with a three, and front now they gradually decreased their opponents’. lead, and on the 19th head the score stood at Foxton 18, Shannon 17. The latter were 3 up'on the 20th head thus giving them a lead of two on the final head, which was also Shannon’s, the final score being Shannon 21, Foxton 18. The rinks were as follows: —
