NEW ROADS TO BEACH.

WAITARERE EXTENSION. The construction of a new road to the Beach in the vicinity of Levin Was brought nearer on Saturday by the receipt by the Horowheivua County Council "of a petition from the Hon. Ed. Newman and Messrs W. S. Park, , P. B. Bartholomew, A. J. Mark, J. M. Milne, E. 11. Kidd and J. R. McDonald, the land owners interested, asking the t'ouncil to take the necessary steps 4o f raise a loan of £IOOO for the formation # of the Waitarere Beach road^a^ae- '■ eordanee with the estimate. ThSy were prepared to include their properties in • a special rating district for the purpose of the loan. As the plans and estimate for the work had not been forwarded, consideration was held over till next meet'"g" OHAU BEACH ROAD. Mr R. Baylis, Ohau, wrote'stating he intended ,U; fence his property on his proper boundary, which would prevent, access to tne Beach for vehicular ;;aiiic. They unde-istood the Council 'intended .to extend the road formation to the Beach and if the work was to tie put in hand in the near future they rt-ere prepared to hold up their work tit iite mean time. The mauer was referred to the Works Committee 'for early decision.
