THE AERIAL-EARTH SYSTEM
The aerial system should be over hauled once or twice during the year. The hoisting gear should be gone over and renewed if at all unsound, as it is quite a business if the rope breaks and runs through the - pulley The mast, which is looked upon asreasonably permanent, must come down in most cases.
The' insulators get coated with a deposit of dust and dirt, and should be scrubbed with hot water and a good hard brush. See that all sold ered joints are tight and taped, thi connections to lead in tube and 'ai rester, are clean and bright. The earth wire should be traced back and checked at its connection to water tube or whatever is used to make the final contact with the ground..
