TO-MORROW—"THE BOY FRIEND."
A whirlwind of comedy is promised in "The Boy Friend," to be shown at the Maoriland Theatre to-morrow evening. It features Marceline Day, John Harrow, George K. Arthur, and Gertrude Astor, and is a scream from start to finish.
MONDAY.—"BEWARE OF
WIDOWS."
Laughter, is declared by leading medicoes to be great-set cure of mental and physical ills. By this deduction anyone "attending "Beware of Widows." starring Laura La Plante at the Maoriland on Monday will get more benefit from its hour and a half of entertainment than from a dozen highly expensive visits to the doctor. There is un irresistible chaim abom Miss La-Plante, a very beautiful blonde with deep dimples that make her eyes •parkle. She is endowed with a deic.ions and rare comedy sense and is a finished actress.
Bryant Washburn is coming back in ;:o his own and is excellent ui tlu* role jppositfi Miss La Plante. Waller hirers (Who can forget him?) is With us again in all his heavy weight ami .ight' comedy. ,Wesley Buggies ha.-. made an excellent production out 01 Owen Davis's stage farce. The director has not a moment in the entire rilm when the story.drags in the slightest. The fast tempo is cleverly mainuiined.
The story take-; place largely on a houseboat and includes comic inciticms'and a melodramatic ptorm whicu are unique in treatment, and impressive in presentation.
The supporting cast includes Paul e'rte Duval, Tuliy Marshall, Catherine Larvei, Heinie Conklin and Otto Hon'--uia a.
