riedale and Ideal rams to Uruguay, Stud Romney Rams and Ewes to Australia, and Stud Corricdal/o ewe;and rams to South Africa.

The consignments to Argentine anu Uruguay went forward per the s.s. "P.'ikelia. •''* from Wellington on 3rd November, and cabled advice has since come to hand that all the sheep weifc landed safely and in good condition at Monte Video after a good run of 19 days. The Argentine Consignment comprised 55 Stud Corriedale Rami*, 20 Stud Komncy Rams and 20 Stud Lincoln rums, and are for 10 separateinterests. 'Hhe Corriedales wore drawn from the flocks of Mr. J. A. Johnstone, of Busker Park, lOta'go, aud Mr. H. T. Little of Hui Hui, Nortn Canterbury, 43 coming from the former and 12 from tke latter. The RommV consignment was split up among 1 breeders —Mr. Quinton Donald oi. Featherston supplying 4, Mr. J. A. Mitchell of Lougburn 4-. Messrs. M. Voss and Sons of Longburn 4, and Mr. J. G. Alexander of Maxwell, Wan ganui, 8 Stud Rams. Wairarapa breed eis supplied the wthole of tke Lincoln Consignment, which "was considered to be the best lot that has ever been exported, comprising as it did the bulk of the prize-winners at the Spring Shows. Mr. Win. Rayncr of Master ton supplied 1 1-shcar rams and •:'

ram hoggets, every sheep with om exception being prize-winners and including the champion ram at the llawko's Bay and Carterton Shows Six Ram Hoggets were supplied b) Mr. L. R." Wilton, 3 by the McGregor Estate and one l-skoar ram and 3 ram hoggets by Mr. A. E. Anderson. Rams from all these breeders have been exported to Argentine for, some years now and are greatly in favour. The Uruguayan Consignment was a small one of 4. Lincoln ram hoggets, 0 Corriedale ram hoggets, and 5 Australian Ideal Rams. Mr. E. T. Wilton supplied the Lineolns, Mr. W. White Howard en, North Canterbury, tke Corriedales, and Mr. W. H. Wcttenhall, Carrs Plains, Victoria, the Ideal rams. The latter breed is peculiar, to Australia, but seems to have found favour in some parts of Uruguay, as several small consignments have been shipped there during tlhe past three years. The Ideal is not unlike the Merino, excepting that the rams are hornless, :ire lighter in bone and carcase, and carry particularly fine wool. Fifty Stud Romney Ewes and 12 Romney Rams were despatched per the '"' Manganui '' to Sydney on 11th November. These were from the Hock of Mr. W. E. Bid well, RototawaL Featherston, and were a very choice lot. being particularly well clad over the heads. This consignment goes to Molong, N.S.W. and should nick very well with the high-class stud rams sent to the same quarter last Autumn The lack of direct shipment is a severe handicap to business "with Souidi Africa. Despite tkis some good business has been done in Jersey cattle, Corriedale and Romney sheep By tike "Marama" on lltk Novem ber, Messrs, Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., shipped to Sydney for tran shipment to the '/Bcltana" for Ope town 6 Stud Corriedale ewes and 3 Stud Corriedale Ram from Mr. J. A., Johnstone's Bushcy Park flock.
