MAORILAND PICTURES.

BUSTER KEATON ON SATURDAY. Saturday’s bill at the Maoriland Theatre is headed by a feature film m which the popular star Buster Keaton appears as “Battling Butler,’’ a story typical of Keaton at his best.. “WESTERN PLUCK.” “Western Pluck,” in which Universal is starring Art Acord, is a picture play that is certain to satisfy the most ardent admirer of this great hard-rid-ing Western star or the most devoted follower of tho life of the plains as depicted upon tho screen. This newest Blue Streak Western will be screened on Monday night. Not only docs “Western Pluck” give riding and fighting in plenty, but it also offers a pretty romance, good acting and is based on a story that is quite plausible. It is replete with many thrilling and tense situations. There is’a runaway stage-coach inside of which ride the heroine and the villain. Incidentally this scene affords Acord with the chance of doing some marvellous riding, for on his favourite horse, “Darkle,” he rides alongside the rushing horses and brings them to a halt. Again, there is a tense moment when “Arizona” and “Rowdy,” with the evidence apparently all against them, stand accused of the murder of the stage coach driver and of the robbery of the mails. ■ But fighting and riding do not overshadow everything else for there is an appealing little romance and much comedy in the picture.
