CHRISTMAS PAY-OUTS.
It is estimated that a sum,approaching £150,000 was distributed Tuesday to farmers by the factories operating in and around Palmerston North. Cheltenham Co., paid out £31,800, Awahuri £15,500, Rongotea £14,000, New Zealand Farmers' Dairy Union. £11,500, Kairanga £IO.OOO, Palm Dairy Company £BOOO. Tut £2500, Reliance £IBOO, Newburv £IBOO, Tiakitahuna £1250. 'IN THE WAIKATO. The following advances are reported to have been decided upon in the Waikato:—Te Aroha, butter, Is 3|-d per lb butter-fat, a 24 per cent, increase; Kakapuku, per cent, increase; Tatua, cheese, Is 5d per lb; Sunny Park, Is 4id per lb for 'butter and Is 5d per lb for cheese, production being .stationary; Raglan, butter. Is 4|d per lb, a 25 per cenf. increase; Te Awamuhi, butter, Is 4.}d per lb. a 25 per cent, increase; Bruntwood, cheese, Is 5d per lb, production stationary; Norfolk, cheese, Is Gd per lb, a substantial increase in production is shown. The Cambridge Company will pay out over £40,000, based on Is 6i|d per lb for cheese and Is 4id per II) for butter. The pay out will include £23,000 for butter, £7500 for cheese and £B6OO as bonuses on last season's supply. The company's production shows" an increase of 12 per cent. The sum of £15,300 will be paid out by the Morrinsville Company for butter. An increase of■ 40 per cent, ai the production of this company is advised. The Opotiki Dairy Association will pay out £IB,OOO for November supply, at Is 2d per lb. \" . IN TARANAKI.
; Over a quarter of a million pounds sterling, to be exact £257,306, was paid out by South Taranaki dairy companies on Tuesday, representing the payment for the November supply of milk and, in many cases, a bonus payment over the whole of last season. This constitutes a record for the dairy industry in South Taranaki, and also a record pay-out. for most of the individual companies in the district. The details of the amounts paid out by South Taranaki companies, with the exception of one or two companies which do not publish their figures, but whose payouts are taken into account in the gross pavouts, are as follow: T. Joll DairyCo";, £47,000; Hawera Dairy Co., £43,*000.; Eltham Dairy Co., £4*3,000; Kaupdkonui Dairy Co*., £28,000; Riverdaie Dairy Co., £13,000; Mells, Mete Mere, AArata, and Melrose Cos., £12,500; Awatuiia Dairy Co., £12,400; Kaponga Dairy Co., £1*1,900; Alton Dairy Co., £7500; Kakaramea Dairy Co., £6558; Manutahi Dairy Co., £4398. OVER THE RANGE.
The Tararua Co-operative Dairy Co. paid out over £2OOO on the 15th inst., payment being made at the rate of Is «d* per lb., the company having disposed of over half its output of cheese. The Eexdale Co-operative Co. had to find £SOOO for its suppliers (Is 6d per lb)„ The Pahiatua Co-operative Dairy Company made substantial payments to suppliers of both butter and cheese departments, the payment in this case reaching nearly £6OOO. The total advance of the North Tiraumea Co. will amount to over £2OOO.
