Osborne v. F. Lee, £24 9s, costs £4 4s Gd. ■' DEFENDED CASE ADJOURNED. r lhe evidence ot rhe p'aiiitiff was taken in the case of Archibald S. McFaVlane (Mr. "w. 8. Park) v. E. J. Barnes and A.-, E. Kceble (Mr. A. B. Sievwright), a claim for £152 7s 3d relating to promissory notes, and the further hearing was adjourned until December 9th. Counsel for plaintiff stated that he nad heard that the defend- | ant Barnes was filing In bankruptcy; • and the Magistrate remarked that it would be necessary to have further .information on the point. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES
'Orders were made on judgment summonses as under:- —
K. Carter to pay the W.F.C.A., Ltd., £3 4s 7d forthwith, in default three days. No orders were made in the following cases: —H. E. Williams v. J. Treiease, £ls 5s 6d; G. W Kingsbeer. v. Noiman Batt, £9 7s 6d; Hayward Bros, and Co., Ltd., 1 v. C. *oung, £ls 6s Id. Trelease stated that he was a flaxcutter, but had had less than three months' work in the last six months. Batt also stated that he was a flaxcutter. .At pr-jsent he was residing in Levin with his parents. He received £3 a week, when in employment, but had been out of work for three mouths. He contracted the debt in November last year.
The Magistrate stated that as soon as debtor was in work that judgment creditor could get an order. In the case against Young, the debtor, who is in business at • Shannon, stal ed 'that he had had a fire in his shop and was engaged in re-stocking it. Business had been bad for twelve months, but was improving.
