THE PRINCE INTERCEDES
HELP FOR WIDOW'S CHILD. When fhe Prince of Wales was at Trincomali during hi s visit to Ceylon, he little thought that his hostess, Mrs. Templen wife of the Deputy Conservator of Forests, would be imploring hig aid. Mr. Templer died later, and the widow was left with six children. She came to England, and after getting four of them into schools at Wantage and Hereford, asked the Prince for his votes so that one of her daughters might be admitted to the Royal infant Orphanage at Wanstead, to which he is a subscriber. The Prince did more than consent. Finding that one of the Queen's presentations to the orphanage was vacant he secured the place for little Elaine Templer. She will not be lonely. Her younger sister, Sylvia will enter the orphanage on payment until elected.
