BROCADE TABLE MATS
How often a vase of flowers' leaves a water, mark ■ on. the surface ,of a fpolish&d table. A mat that looks in keeping: with both the flowers, and the table can be made from old scraps of brocaded material. The brocade can be cut.to the size required, and interlined with mackintosh to avoid any danger of leakage, and then covered underneath Avith sateen. All three materials are then placed together" and bound round the edge with dull gold braid.
