LEVIN STOCK MARKET
The attendance was good at the Levin stock sale yesterday, when there were small yardings of sheep and pigs and, a fair entry of cattle. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report sales at the following prices:— Sheep. —Mixed two-tooths 10s 6d to 21s.
Cattle.—Cows and calves £4 9s, yearling heifers £3 to £5 lis. steers £3 7s to £3 17s 6d, springing heifers £7 15s to £l4, dairy cows in milk £4 to £9.
Pigs.—Weaners 9s, porkers £2 6s to £2 lis, sow and nine weaners £l2 10s.
CLEARING SALE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having conducted a most successful clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr W. D. F. Kockel, at the farm, Levin, on Monday, the herd offered being of mixed colours, and of medium quality. The offerings met with keen competition from a very large attendance of buyers. The herd averaged, including several threequartered cows, £l4 12s. Best cows cows sold at from £ls to £2O ss, medium £lO to £l4, three-quartered cows £6 to £9, yearling mills £lO to £ll, sow and litter £9 15, sow to farrow £6 ss, light porkers £2, small stores 28s, weaners 245, aged spring cart mare £l7, hack £5 10s. Implements and sundries fetched full market values.
