PEDIGREE STOCK SALE.

1: CATTLE AND PIGS AT CENTRAL K DEVELOPMENT FARM. J', SATISFACTORY PEICES REALISED L The annual sale of pedigree dairy f" stock and pigs bred on the Central De- £ yelopment Farm took place yesterday I- afternoon at the Farm. Buyers from *■ many'parts of the North Island, mt- ■ eluding the Auckland district, were re. V presented, and on the whole the prices % • were satisfactory to the sellers, while T- the purchasers have the assurance i given by scientific breeding that their V investments are sound. The cattle eom- *■ prised Friesian and Red Poll yearling Z bulls, older bulls, and a few Red Poll -- cows and heifers, but buyers were found I onlv for yearling bulls, the top prices ? being 45 guineas, at which Dominion ¥ Robin Hood and Dominion King Do- ?-' mino Woodcrest were each knocked ■ down to Mr E. C. The demand for younger sorts was not so brisk, the tendency evidently being to secure animals likely to show an early profit. i The current financial stringency was doubtless reflected in the number of ; ~ passings in both" divisions of stock, but - the sales that were effected showed -: ; that value was lecognised and that the Farm animals have a widespread t reputation.
