OPOSSUM KILLING WITHOUT A LICENSE.
At the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., on the information of Percy William Willson, ranger for the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, John Alfred Reid was charged with having taken or killed opossums with-out-a license. He pleaded guilty. Mr Wilson stated that six skins had been found drying when defendant was called on. A fine of £3 was imposed, with costs £1 ss. George Thomas Wilkinson was then similarly charged. hot a bad'case,” stated Mr Willson.''Defendant, lie proceeded, had bought, traps, but had far with his trapping as .they had been stolen the morning after they had been put out.
