The Foxton State School has now established an athletic, record that can be equalled by few schools in the Dominion. Trophies won this year in the sports field are as follow: —(1) The McKelvie Shield for athletics. (2) The McKelvie Cup for 220 yards boys’ championship (won by B. Coley), both won at Sanson Sports. (3) The Ilobsor Shield for athletics for Schools in Ilorowlienua District. ((4) The Austin Banner for 15-a-side Rugby Football, out of the 8 games' played Foxton won 7 and drew 1. (5) The Primary Schools swimming championship of the Manavvatu centre (won by G. Hirini). (G) The Noad Shield, for Primary 7-a-side football won on Saturday last. It is proposed to hold a social evening in honour of the boys and girls who took part in the winning of these trophies and for the presentation of some of [he above. —Herald.
