RESULT A DRAW. The third grade trial match played at Weraroa on Saturday, between Wan-derers-Weraroa-Awahou and Shannon-
Foxton-Paraparaumu resulted in a draw, tlie scores being three all.

The primary schools curtain-raiser to the Bebbington Shield North v. South resulted in a win for the South by 8 points to 3.
In the first ten minutes South scored twice through George and Cook, Campbell converting one. From then on North combined far better, and on the play deserved a good win. Hirini struck an off day with his kicking, all his attempts at goal being unsuccessful. In the second spell Saxon scored from a fast combined movement for North.
LEVIN HIGH SCHOOL DRAW WITH TECHNICAL.
PALAIERSTON N., Aug. 13
At the Showgrounds this morning, on a heavy, muddy ground which made playing conditions difficult, the Levin District High School Rugby fifteen played a pointless draw with a team representing the Palmerston North Technical School. In spite of the adverse weather conditions, a very fair game was played, but no tries resulted, and shots at goal from penalties proved unsuccessful, although only narrowly so on occasions The bigger team was fielded by the visitors, who showed that in better weather they would have proved formidable opponents, while Technical showed a decided superiority in the loose, their dribbling being on occasions excellent. After a keenly contested struggle in the mud and rain the game ended with neither side having scored. TEAM FOR WELLINGTON. Emergencies. —Full-back or halt, Cur. tis (Levin); five-eighths or three-quar-ters, Saxon (Shannon), Talia (Oliau); forwards. Rickeby (Foxton), Webbcy ♦(Otaki). WERAROA v. SHANNON JUNIORS. The above teams met on the Shannon Domain last Saturday to decide who should play Foxton for the final of the Knock-out Competition. The ground was heavy after the severe rain experienced during the week; the result being that play was mostly of a forward nature, although both sides tried passing and tried to make the game open. The play was willing and fast throughout. Weraroa kicked off and even play took place until Shannon forwards carried play over Weraroa line, the latter forcing. Shannon were getting the ball from the scrums and kept Weraroa busy defending. Eventually, Broughton made for the line, but was well collared by Birehall. From a serum a red back tried to clear, but the kick rebounded, causing Shannon to force. From the kick out the Reds, invaded Weraroa ground, but a mark relieved Weraroa, who again worked to near Shannon line, Bowler marking. Broughton, kicking well down the field looked dangerous, but Birchall marked, eventually finding the line. Both sides attacked in turn, Robinson and Bowler doing good work. Gay led a forward charge, but Warman saved. A Weraroa man made a good run for the line, but was well collared by Birchall. Half time arrived shortly after. . On resuming, Shannon kicked off, botu teams being even until \\ arman marked. The kick failed. Robinson again was prominent in taking play to Weraroa line, but Hibbell kicked over the line and Weraroa forced. Later Warman tried a pot. The Reds kept up the pressure and from a good forward rush Hibbell scored. Warman failed to add the extra points. This reverse livened up Weraroa and led by Gay, Shannon were kept busy, Mason, Warman and Birchall in turn by good kicking saving the Reds a lot. From a scrum Co vie passed out to Carter, who handed* to Mason, who dropped a beautiful goal from well-orft. Shannon 7, Weraroa *O. From now on, Weraroa appeared to lose heart and only good work by Graham, who kicked and collared well, and Broughton saved further scores. The Reds passed well and Weraroa also tried passing but both broke down. Satherley made a good run beating several men, but Graham stopped him. The game ended shortly after —Shannon 7. Weraroa 0. Air At. Coyle had control of the game.
