GOLF NOTES.

SHANNON v. LEVIN. MEDAL MATCH. On Saturday the Shannon club played a match with Levin consisting of ten men and seven ladies. As the day was perfectly calm and the grounds dry and hard a most enjoyable day’s sport resulted. The Shannon men’s team, won by 61 to 2$ and the ladies lost by 3 to 4, thus ginving Shannon a total of 9£ wins to 7£. Afternoon tea was dispensed by lady members of the Shannon club, and the visitors expressed themselves as being delighted with the course, and the day’s play. Next Saturday the August medal match will be held. It is hoped that more ladies will, on this occasion enter for the event, and so make the comoetition somewhat keener.
