TAFFETA GOWNS
POPULAR 'FOR WEDDINGS.
For the youthful bride who adores a picturesque type of gown, taffeta at once suggests itself. Taffeta arranged in crisp and bouffant manner over a skirt of silver lace with deep net hem. Maybe the taffeta gown could be slit open in front from waist-line to its ankle length, coyly to reveal glimpses of the silvery skirt beneath it. Around the edges and the hem of this dream gown would appear the tiniest of kilted taffeta ruchings, while a taffeta train and a flowing veil of unadorned tulle w r ould be charming additions to its beauty. The taffeta would not be white . . . best beloved it would be if it took unto itself a parchment tone . . . .and the tulle that fell so gracefully from a simple little triple w r reath of tiniest orange buds would possess the shade that age -would paint out great grand mother’s veil, that had lain demurely hidden in a garret for a hundred years or so. Just a sheaf of lilies of the valley would the bride who wore this gown carry, with nestling in among them, one or two' beautiful orchids palely pink and delicate as the bride’s own loveliness must be.
