SCHOOL FOOTBALL.

The school inter-club banner football competition Avas concluded on Saturday. On their home ground Shannon played Levin and was defeated by 30 points to 6; two tries each; but with Levin converting both. The game was not as good as has been shown, there being too much speculation on both sides. Both the Slmnnon tries were secured by Richards and were secured after hard tustliug and persistent following up. Next Saturday the seven-aside tournament will be hold at Levin, for which one team from the Shannon School has entered.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS COMPETITION FOXTON WIN AUSTIN BANNER. The final match of the Primary Schools competition was played on Wednesday, Foxton playing Otaki at Otaki. Kura scored the'first try, J. Hirini adding the major points with a fine kick. Foxtou. s—Otaki 0. Foxton continued to have the best of the game, for Thompson to dribble through and picking up neatly, score his first try. Hirini’s fine attempt just missed the uprights. Foxton B—Otaki8 —Otaki 0. The backs persevered with their passing rushes until 11. Gardiner, making a fine run, scored under the prsts. Hirini converted. Foxton 13 —Otaki 0. In the second spell, Otaki attacked determinedly, several gc-od individual efforts being made, but Kura, Hirini and M. Gardner wore defending too well. The heavy ground proved tiling to both teams, and play slowed up considerably. The Foxton backs combining well, the ball was transferred to 11. Gardner who scored right under the posts.
