HAROLD LLOYD IN “COLLEGE
DATS.’ ’
Harold Lloyd is one of the recognised monarohs of mirth on the screen. The lamps of Lloyd are the lamps of laughter. And this fact is known the world over. In “College Days,” to be screened on Friday in Shannon, a theatrical attraction of the highest calibre will be offered, a production that is crammed with. '.laughs from beginning to end. Undoubtedly it is th o greatest laughter special ever made by Harold Lloyd. And what a comedy. All the fun of a new boy at college w r ho tries to become popular but only becomes the butt of all jokes. And then the final awakening and his entry as a hopeless last resort, into the football game of the, season. Tljen more laughs, thick and plenty. In his efforts to please he does the wrong thing at the wrong time but in so doing wins the game. Harold Lloyd stands to-day as the leading individual exponent of dean, wholesome'screen comedy. Not a picture of his career that cannot be seen by young and old —father, mother, sister, brother, without a blush. The ideals that Paramount have applied to motion picture production, Harold Lloyd has persistently cultivated in his field. To-day, Harold Lloyd is king of laughter, and Paramount is proud to pay this tribute to him and to have the privilege of his pictures. “College Days' ’ is Harold Lloyd's first Paramount release. , !
