LABOUR MEMBER’S EXPERIENCES
AUCKLAND, Juno 21
One of Auckland’s Labour members of Parliament, Mr F. N. Bartram, had an audience Avitli the King at Buckingham Palace during his visit to England.
On his return home to-day Mr Bartram referred Avith delight to the meeting Avitli His Majesty. It took place during a garden party at Buckingham Palace, and Mr Bartram had quite a long conversation Avitli the King, who evinced a keen interest in the Dominion ’s Avelfare.
His Majesty spoke very Avell of the Prime Minister, Mr Coates, and -referred to the A’isit of his sou, the Duke of York, to Nerv Zealand, adding that the people Avould no doubt miss him. “The King is a fine man, and one can readily understand Avhy he is uni--versally liked,” added Mr Bartram. One of the most pleasant of the many experiences of their tour for Mr and Mrs Bartram Ava 3 a week-end spent as guests of the Countess of Warwick, Avho is an active member of the Labour moA'ement, at her country house in Essex
