GOLF NOTES.
Members are requested to be on the groufid early to-morrow in order to play for the June medals. Men will play eighteen holes, ladies twelve. Attention is drawn to the new, rule Regarding lifting of a ball. A'ballVmay be lifted out of rough grass or ground, but must not be teed up or placed in the field. It may be dropped on any clear ground. Picking away > from fences is also allowed. The boundaries consist of all fences on the right of the fairways and those directly beyond any greens. A ball hitting a fence round a ground when played from within a distance of twenty yards must be played again -from the same spot, but without penalty. The penalty forgoing out of bounds is one stroke, and another must, he played from the same pla -o as from which the boundary ball was played. For example should, the first ball off the tee go out of bounds; a second must be driven from -the tee and counted as the second stroke. Members are requested to read up rules relating to lost ball and to a ball striking the flag pin from within twenty yards.
Nobody lias yet been called upon to pay the penalty of holing out in one, although enquiries have already been made as to the nature of the penalty. Quite a number of members are looking forivard to thy day when a player Avill accomplish this feat. Players Avill be paired for to-mor-ioav’s medal match.
