GOLF NOTES.

JUNE 3rd TOURNAMENT.

Next Friday, June 3rd being a holiday it has been decided to hold a oneclub tournament at the local course. This year players are restricted to an iron club, anything from a deek to A putter being allowed. No' doubt the vigorous members will dash along with cleeks while the more gentle will prefer putters; and the artistic will cut graceful curves with the mashie... and the niblick. Play will be on sealed handicaps and there will be a Small entrance fee. The one club game will be over nine holes and the usual rules will govern the play. It is hoped that all players will be able to record a few eclectic numbers, and that even Van. Staveren Bros. * trophy may be lifted. In the latter case the lucky player Will not mind paying the full penalty. Play will commence at 10,30 a. m., and members are asked to-provide their own lunch and afternoon refreshments Tea, sugar and milk will be supplied.
