CONCERT AND PRIZEGIVING. ■ —; * The anniversary tea. and prize-giving of the Methodist Sunday School was held on Wednesday evening in the Parish Hall. At six o’clock the children sat down to tea, for which a plentiful supply of good things had been provided by the ladies. Needless to say, these were done full justice / to. Afterwards the concert and prizegiving took place. An enjoyable programme was submitted, items being rendered by the Sunday School- scholars, visitors" from Levin and Foxton, and local talent. During the evening, the secretary (Mr. E. Barber) reported that although the number on the school roll showed a decrease as compared -with last year, there had been a far better average attendance. : The total receipts, including Sunday School collections, donations and concerts was £2B 2s the expenditure being £2l 18s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £6 3s. At the conclusion of the concert Mr. J. H. Roberts, presented the. prizes, won by the following: —* Senior Class: Margaret Swindlehurst I, Kate Hill 2, Lillian Buekman 3. Intex-mediate Girls: Olga Buekman 'l, Joyce and Dulcie Ingley (equal) 2, A. Roberts 3. Junior Class: Joyce Quarrie 1, Dons Tremewan 2, Jean Hill 3. Tnfant Girls: Ada Dorset 1, Mavis Hook 2, Betty Johnson 3. Infant Boys: Trevor Ingley 1, Fred Tremewan 2, John Riches 3.

Young Worshippers League: Margaret Swindlehurst 1, Violet Bowker 2, Joyce Quarrie 3.' Mr Bennett’s special prize: Trevor Ingley 1, Junior Class, special. prizes: Joyce Quarrie 1, Annie Dorset 2. .. Tablet work: Joyce Ingley 1, Dulcie Ingley 2. At the conclusion the teachers thanked all those who had so kindly assisted at the tea and concert.
