THE TARARUA SEARCH.
THANKS TO THE SEARCHERS. (To the Editor). gi r _\V e would be thankful for the opportunity to convey through your paper our sincere and heartfelt thanks to every man who either went in search of us, or who was in any way connected with the search. From the knowledge of the country gained by us, we fully realise the difficulties undergone and the privations suffered by these men, and we offer our thanks for the splendid manner in which they carried out the search. What hardships we endured we consider as trifling when compared with those suffered by the search parties. Our sincere thanks are also due to those who, although not taking part in the actual search, made such a
search possible; to the wives and relatives of the searchers for their splendid work; and to friends and others for their expressions of sympathy to our parents in our absence, and to all those who in any way associated themselves in our relief. We are endeavouring to communicate personally with as many of the searchers as possible, but we know, unfortunately, that some will be inadvertently missed, and we would take this opportunity now to thank each and everyone of them for their great kindness.- —We are, etc., ROY DIEDERICH, DESMOND SCANLON. Wellington, 4/5/27.
